Manipulation in Music?

Alright so on a serious note now. There's this question that's pondered my thoughts for weeks - day and night. People claim that music is being manipulated by the goverment, and how there is subliminal messages being passed through to the society. Is it true? Is there a definate correct answer? Everyone in this forum listens to music right? What are your thoughts? Do You believe it's true? Let me know.... i want facts as well as opinions....
