Any marriage requires long term planning. Especially with arranged marriages. Parents tend to seek early consent so it gives them plenty time in choosing the future partner.

Just coz ur single doesn't mean you're ready for marriage. I can understand your fear, the whole marriage concept is freaky. But maybe you'd like to think abt it since you're 19. Islamically it's better to marry young then later, it means you're less likely to commiting major sins.

I dnt knw what advice to give you but maybe a few of my personal experiences could help your thoughts adjust to the marriage concept of life. I remember when Iwas 19 and my family wanted to get me married off, but mentally Iwasn't prepared for a partner, I'm an ideal housewife, wifey material but mentally my mind wasn't ready for a partner. At that point I was in the same position as you thinking my life is over, that's it i'm gonna be married. But I was wrong, my family jus wanted my permssion before going out and seeking anyone for me.

At the age of 20 I turned round and thought to myself, this stuff takes time, what have I to loose. Many come and many go, we go thru an approval section, then the reject. It doesn't happen as soon as you see it or think abt it. My ideal age for marriage is 24. I'm now 23 and it has taken time in finding and choosing the ideal partner.

This stuff takes time, give it some thought, dnt be scared..remember at the end of the day you're entitled to share your views and opinions, make sure you have a say and are constantly aware of whats happening around you. It's a fun process, you're in control..make the most of it
